Finally got my Sin City Cabaret 2009 Calendar. It's a cabaret (strip club) in the Bronx. I shot this back in November 2008 and it was a lot of fun doing this project. A lot of photographers want to shoot glamour, but often they don't realize that its more work than it appears to be. It's not easy finding the right pose to highlight the model's best features. And so many models are insecure... They may appear confident in the photos you see, but they aren't that way on set.

This was one of my favorite images from the calendar. I took it while I was checking the light. The great thing about digital is that you can keep the light checks if they turn out to be good shots. Back when I shot film, the light checks were done on Polaroid film and if it was a good shot, you spend the next 15 minutes trying to recreate the Polaroid. And most of the time, as soon as the Polaroid was done, the model would leave her position to look at the Polaroid. So then you had to try to get her back to the exact position she had been in for the Polariod.
Not having to shoot Polariods was one of the first things that made me fall in love with Digital Photography as soon as I was exposed to it.
